EU import fee calculator for LitBuy parcels
Since July 2026 every parcel from outside the EU pays customs duty, and since 1 November 2026 a handling fee as well. Work out what your parcel will cost on arrival.
What you pay to import a parcel into the EU
- €3 customs duty per item type on parcels whose goods are worth €150 or less. It applies from 1 July 2026 to July 2028. It's charged per tariff classification, so five T-shirts count once, while T-shirts and a watch count twice.
- Normal customs duty on parcels over €150, at the rate for each kind of goods. The calculator applies it to the items plus shipping, which is how customs value is usually worked out.
- €2 EU handling fee per item type on goods sent to consumers from outside the EU, from 1 November 2026, whatever the parcel's value.
- Import VAT at your country's standard rate, on the items plus shipping plus duty.
- Carrier fees for clearing customs, if your carrier charges them.
Who collects these depends on the shipping line. On many lines the carrier asks you to pay before delivery; others are tax-inclusive and build the charges into the shipping price. LitBuy shows which lines include taxes when you submit a parcel.

Keeping import costs down
Because the €3 duty and the €2 fee are charged per type of item, a parcel of five hoodies costs less in fees than five different kinds of item worth the same.
